The ocean is a religion.  Its waves are a constant reminder of the never-ending nature of the world we live in. It's tides teach you that everything comes and goes at it's own pace. It touches all parts of our world at the same time and ties us all together no matter how far away we think we might be from each other. Its always there, making us feel small, while at the same time enlarging us in ways we don't even fathom. Stand on a shore and you can stare off into  the Seas depths and on any given day see into your past or your future.
The ocean has always been my religion and no matter how far away I am or how long its been since my last confession,  I can always sense it's ebb and flow in my veins and feel its pull on my heart and soul every time there's a full moon in the sky.
Try to stand on a beach while the last rays of summer sun reach out to you from millions of miles away and not feel the awe.
No the Ocean is most definitely a religion and I was born to be it's disciple.

Open windows and screen doors
Blooms early on a Dogwood tree
Light filters in with the 6 o'clock coffee
As windchimes dance and sing
Smell of laundry drying in the sun
Sheets dance with life, billow like sails
The moon in full retreat, has once again lost
Shrimp & Grits wait for bacon and red eye gravy
While honey cools hot Cat Head biscuits
And the new day yawns into life

Ever notice that the closer you get to the Coast, the less your troubles seem to weigh on your mind? Its as if sea breeze, salt air and the sound of the approaching surf are able to manifest some kind of magical effect on the very gravity  that binds us to this world and our woes. We shed our skin of worry, work and responsibility and for a while we are reborn into this world of ocean breezes and sand.  Lighter, freer and full of the boundless hope that every day can be just like this one. For awhile the only burden that we carry is that we know, that at some point we're going to have to re-enter our old selves and assume the weight of our destiny. But for now my toes are in the sand and my eyes on nothing more pressing than the rising tide line. Gravity has been replaced by the buoyancy of an old inner tube that keeps calling my name and the tart goodness of the wedge of lime that keep dancing around the neck of my ice cold Corona.
Somewhere near the Coast,

ENJOY YOUR DAY, YOU MOTHERS!
Wait, , , that doesn't sound right.

To all you Moms who give so much of themselves and live each day for no other reason than to give everyone around them, all the things, great and small that they need to grow up and flourish in life.
Selfless, caring, supportive, loving, protective, dependable.  All these words have one thing in common. They are all synonyms  for,,,,, Mother.
Enjoy your day

I am sending out good thoughts this morning.  Today all y'all will have nothing but good luck. You will hear only good news and everyone around you will try their best to make you smile.
Today WILL be yours, problems will be only small bumps in a road that is ALL downhill from this point on.
If this is the kind of day that want, the kind of day you need, no,,, the kind of day you deserve than all you have to do is make the people around you, , , smile. Commit a random act of politeness today and you will change the dynamics of someone's day and by changing their day you will change your own.
